Riyadh International Dispute Resolution Week 2024

The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration announced the launch of the Riyadh International Dispute Resolution Week 2024. This is in order to strengthen the soft power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Highlighting the developments witnessed in the field of alternatives to dispute settlement.

Riyadh International Dispute Resolution Week 2024 also comes to be a global event. This is a culmination of the advanced degrees achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in terms of developing its legislative and legal environment and its dispute settlement system.

Riyadh Week activities are an international platform that brings together all parties related to the dispute settlement system. It aims to explore industrial opportunities in the largest economy in the Middle East region. Exchanging knowledge and experiences, building relationships and establishing joint cooperation.

The first edition of “Riyadh International Dispute Resolution Week - RIDW24” will be held during the period 22 - 26 Shaaban 1445 (3 - 7 March 2024), and this event will be held annually in general, in the month of March of each year.

It is expected that the days of the week will witness the holding of a large number of events specialized in the commercial dispute settlement system, including arbitration, mediation, litigation, and other relevant legal topics and topics. It is accompanied by an international conference held by the Center on the fourth day of the week (March 6, 2024). This is in partnership with international organizations concerned with developing the industry.

The days of the week will witness, for the first time, the week of oral arguments in the fifth edition of the International Student Commercial Arbitration Competition in the Arabic language “SCCA International Arabic Moot” being held in person, after it was held virtually throughout the previous editions of the competition, which the Center initiated with a high international partnership. In a step that will maximize the momentum that will arise from holding both events.

The week's organization is supervised by a committee that includes active parties in the dispute settlement industry from inside and outside the Kingdom, with the aim of governing the week's work in a way that achieves growth and sustainability.
